  1. Live like the gospel is ________________________ - because it is!   Philippians 1:27

Philippians 1:27 (NASB) 27 Only conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or remain absent, I will hear of you that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;

Your life is either putting the gospel on display or putting it in doubt.

  1. ________________________ when life pushes back  Philippians 1:27b-28

Philippians 1:27b-28 (NASB) standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel; 28 in no way alarmed by your opponents—which is a sign of destruction for them, but of salvation for you, and that too, from God.

The enemy wants believers divided because divided believers are distracted believers.

  1. Don’t let opposition convince you God is absent - because ____________________!                       Philippians 1:29-30

Philippians 1:29-30 (NASB) 29 For to you it has been granted for Christ’s sake, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake, 30 experiencing the same conflict which you saw in me, and now hear to be in me.

4. Remember _________________________________

Live in a way that makes the gospel look as good as it really is.

Just because life gets hard doesn't mean God has gone silent.

Takin’ It Home…

  1. Ask this hard question: “Does __________________ make the gospel look attractive or confusing?”
  2. ____________________________ within the church.
  3. Stop interpreting every hardship as a sign God is absent.
  4. Remember _________________________________

Live in a way that makes the gospel look as good as it really is.

DIGGING DEEPER

The word translated "conduct yourselves" refers to living as citizens. Paul intentionally uses citizenship language because Philippi was a proud Roman colony. He reminds believers that their primary allegiance is not Rome but Christ.

The phrase "striving together" was often used of athletes competing side by side. The image is teamwork, unity, and shared effort.

The word "granted" in v29 comes from the same root as grace. Paul sees both faith and suffering as gifts God can use for His purposes.
